Purpose

Include thermal transport and, where applicable, buoyancy, conjugate heat transfer, or radiation.

Steps

1. Enable Heat in Setup and configure the thermal material properties and boundary conditions.

   

2. For natural convection, open Settings → Operating Conditions and enable Buoyancy.

   

3. For fluid–solid heat transfer, choose conjugate heat transfer in Simulation type and assign the domain materials and interface settings.

   

4. If needed, enable the surface-to-surface model in the Radiation controls.

Limitations

• CHT requires Pro. Surface-to-surface radiation models exchange between walls and neglects participating media. Heat-balance and heat-flux reports have their own support limits; see the related articles.
