Unsteadiness

  • Select the simulation type (steady or unsteady) using the Unsteadiness control.

  • Real flows are generally unsteady and change over time. However, if the flow reaches a stable or statistically steady behavior, or if time-dependent effects are negligible, it can be approximated as steady. The choice between steady and unsteady modeling depends on the physics of the problem and the accuracy required.

Limitations

  • CFxD currently supports steady-state simulations only. Time-accurate (transient) simulations are planned for a future release.
