Purpose

Choose whether to seek a steady solution or resolve changes over physical time.

Steps

  1. Choose Steady or Transient in the unsteadiness control.

    Unsteadiness controls

  2. For Steady, configure the iteration limit. For Transient, configure the time step, total time, and iterations per step.
  3. Check that the selected physical models and time settings represent the behavior you need to study.

Limitations

  • A steady approximation cannot resolve time-dependent behavior. Transient accuracy depends on the time step and the convergence within each step. Some model combinations adjust or restrict the available mode.
